Pop-Up Christmas In Aid Of PROMISEworks
We are delighted to be hosting this year’s Pop-Up Christmas at Kilver in aid of PROMISEworks, a fantastic local charity helping young people across the country. PROMISEworks make a real difference to children and young people, and all of the exhibitors from the Pop-Up Christmas at Kilver are joining in and generously donating a portion of their profits to this wonderful charity.
PROMISEworks is a local Somerset charity that offers mentoring services to disadvantaged children aged 5-25 across the country.
PROMISEworks has been supporting vulnerable young people in Somerset since April 2017, in that time they have matched over 250 young people with a long term volunteer mentor. They currently have 130 active relationships but the need is far greater. Across the county they have 397 referrals awaiting a match and half of these are in the Mendip and South Somerset area.
PROMISEworks General manager, Ali Hart said “We are so thrilled to have been given the opportunity to reach out to so many of you and ask for your support at the Pop-Up Christmas at Kilver Court.
Our mentors make an enormous difference to the child or young person they are matched with, simply by being a source of calm and constant support. Whether your mentoring time involves walking a dog, playing a sport, undertaking a craft activity or just chatting over a drink and a snack, the trusted friendship that develops helps to build self-esteem, resilience and emotional wellbeing.”
