Trained in Florence, he developed a deep grounding in traditional realism and in the techniques and visual language of the Old Masters.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHis paintings explore perception through intensely worked portraits and landscapes. Drawing on close observation, light, colour and the physical process of painting, his work considers how an image can move beyond straightforward representation to capture something of a person, place or moment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlongside his studio practice, Nick has developed a wide-ranging body of work dedicated to making art history engaging and accessible.
